Bringing the Mazi project to life

It's not just about filling them with calories and making sure they're eating. It's about what they're eating and making sure that what they're eating is going to make them feel better.

When Mazi reached out to us ahead of their May crowdfunder, the mission was clear: tell a powerful story that cuts through the noise.

Their goal? Raise awareness and funds to fight food insecurity and provide nourishing meals to vulnerable young people across the UK. With World Hunger Day approaching, the timing was urgent - and the story, crucial.

We knew that for a cause-driven campaign like this, slick production wasn’t enough. It had to feel real, human, and emotive.

Our Approach

We started by getting under the skin of what Mazi does. Their team aren’t just meal providers, they’re relationship builders, helping young people feel seen, cared for, and fed in every sense of the word.

The concept: a short but emotional hero film for their crowdfunder page, supported by cutdowns for Instagram and LinkedIn.
We also captured stills and behind-the-scenes content to give the campaign a visual thread that could live across platforms.

Why Story Matters

It’s easy to list stats. It’s harder - and more effective - to tell a story that connects.

We chose to create a natural feeling video without being too slick or polished, focusing on the real joy and engagement the charity delivers to young people across Bristol.
In post, we kept things warm and grounded. A soft colour grade, intimate framing, and simple copy overlays helped elevate the emotion without ever tipping into sentimentality.

We wanted to highlight the real difficulty that the people Mazi helps but we also wanted to highlight the positivity of the work they do and not just focus on the negatives.

The Result

The crowdfunder is now live - and early signs are promising (Raising over £2500 in under 24 hours)The video has already helped spark new conversations and pledges. We’re proud to have played a part.
